Clarifying the path to Tokenisation
In the 17th century The Netherlands transformed the economic landscape with the invention of the stock market. Tokenisation represents as fundamental a shift for the 21st century.
The Netherlands is well-suited to play a leading role in this transition, but it needs to act fast as large network effects imply a significant first mover advantage. Many other jurisdictions, including Germany & France, are actively targeting being the epicentre of Tokenisation.
The 2Tokens project aims to develop a clear path to realising value from Tokenisation. Ultimately this is a guide on how to use Tokenisation, first surfacing up challenges with the current legal & regulatory environment and helping to motivate the changes needed.
Please participate and help realise the benefits of Tokenisation!
Phase 1: The Round Table Sessions
In the round table sessions, all stakeholders discuss why we need tokenisation, what is required to achieve value from tokenisation, how we should move ahead with it and what the implications are for The Netherlands.
Challenges & Opportunities
November 6th, Den Haag
Tokenization initiatives have a large network effect built in, which means that there will be a significant fist mover advantage. The Netherlands is well positioned to play a leading role in this transition, but the challenges are diverse. We invite you to discuss how to overcome these barriers/utilise the opportunities.
Purpose driven Tokenisation
January 14th, Delft
A well-designed token ecosystem unlocks value by bringing parties together in new ways, and stimulates behaviour by having tokens as built-in incentives. This session dives deeper into how to achieve shared understanding, innovative funding, dealing with change management, driving engagement, knowledge & skills needed, and not least what the messaging should be around new ecosystem development.
February 11th, Amsterdam
An asset-backed token is connected to a tangible or intangible object that has economic value; it essentially digitizes an asset and records its associated information on a blockchain. You will have a deeper understanding on the different ways of token financing, and how regulation and governance may impact tokenomics.
During the first phase of the 2Tokens project, the state of the industry will be assessed. Focus will be on matters such as opportunities, challenges, fears, regulations, finance, and tokenomics.
This is done by hosting 3 round table sessions where various topics regarding tokenisation are discussed and captured. Summaries of the round tables will be posted online.
In this phase, a series of design-thinking workshops will be organised. Together with stakeholders and companies that already use tokenisation in their business model, we will dive deeper into the current state of tokenomics.
The results from this phase will contribute to a better understanding of what needs to happen for tokenomics to work.
This phase focuses on capturing and processing all information from the previous phases. All conclusions from the round tables, workshops, and design studies, will be combined in a report. In addition, an interactive, online guide will be created for companies considering to benefit from the use of tokenisation.
Awareness & Inspiration
The last phase will create awareness about tokenisation through organising several workshops for stakeholders and interested parties.
