  • Field Trip to Prodrive Technologies

    This on-site expert session brings together professionals working on digital energy solutions for an in-depth field trip to Prodrive Technologies in Eindhoven. By connecting theory with practice, participants will engage directly with engineers and experts working on power conversion, EV charging, battery systems, and hardware manufacturing.

    The session is designed as an open expert dialogue between specialists in tokenization, data platforms, decentralized energy systems, and Prodrive’s technical teams. Through hands-on insights and discussion, we explore how digital architectures align with real-world energy infrastructure and how new storage and charging solutions shape future energy hubs.

    The session follows the Chatham House Rules, encouraging candid exchange while safeguarding participants’ privacy. Diverse perspectives are intentionally brought together to challenge assumptions, create constructive tension, and deepen shared understanding.

    Introduction to the purpose of the field trip and its link to Mandate 3 of the working group: developing local energy hubs where production, storage, and exchange are enabled through digital tokens. We set the context for how hardware - such as power conversion, EV charging, batteries, and smart metering - supports tokenized energy flows, flexibility, data-driven optimization, and decentralized governance.

    Overview of Prodrive Technologies and Peblar, and their role in developing mission-critical hardware solutions, with a focus on power conversion systems for decentralized and shared energy infrastructures.

    Discussion on neighborhood-scale battery solutions and their role in local energy hubs. We explore how shared storage reduces grid congestion, enables local energy exchange, and supports fair value distribution through transparent, token-based accounting aligning technical infrastructure with community governance and energy autonomy.
